Circles: rooms for your thing.
A Circle is a group started by a member, with its own posts, events and guidelines. Join as many as you like. Circles are free.
Three kinds of Circle. You decide who gets in.
Public
“Anyone can find this Circle.”
Open to join, and shareable with a link.
Private
“Discoverable, but requires approval.”
You ask to join and the Circle decides. Members are chosen, not just let in.
Secret
“The Circle is hidden.”
Invite only. Share links are turned off, so it can’t leak.
A Private or Secret Circle can never be made public later. That’s for privacy, and it’s permanent.
Inside a Circle
Post the way you talk
Text, photos, video, voice notes and polls. Videos live in Circles only, not in the feed or chats.
Events
Set up an event inside a Circle and the members see it there.
Notifications you choose
Follow a single post or comment to hear about replies, or pick how much a whole Circle can notify you. Mute any Circle.
Describe it your way
Every Circle says what it’s for, who it’s for and the guidelines members follow, up front.
Finding your Circle
- Search by Circle name or tag
- Circles near you
- Circles with your matches
- New Circles picked for you
- A share link from a friend (Public Circles only)
Safe by design, Circle by Circle
Moderators can act fast
Remove someone (they can rejoin), ban them from the Circle for good, or escalate to Hiki’s admins.
Anyone can report a Circle
Reports reach Hiki’s moderation team. Circles that break the community guidelines are removed.
Blocking reaches Circles too
Block someone and you leave the Circles they run. You can also limit who can invite you to Circles.
